8:00 a.m.
  • Class starts
  • Full discussion of air flow and the relationship it has with the furnace, the condenser and the evaporator coil;
  • We teach how to use a ductulator;
  • Proper sizing of duct work;
  • Identifying dirty evaporator coil and blower wheel;
  • Importance of duct sealing;
  • Identification of poorly designed and installed bad duct work and how it affects the HVAC system’s performance;
  • How a properly designed duct system is designed;
  • Basic duct design; and
  • Air filtration and ventilation.

tuesday

Class starts

  • Refrigeration theory including the measurement of subcooling and superheat;
  • Different refrigerant properties; and
  • Lab:
  • How to read and understand refrigerant pressures;
  • Refrigerant recovery on an active, working unit;
  • System dehydration; and
  • System charging.

  • Review of refrigeration; 
  • Electrical meter usage to measure volts, Ohms and amps; and
  • Identification of commonly used parts in air conditioners, heat pumps, and gas furnaces.

The Turnaround: We start connecting the dots for our 90-day goals. Without a goal, nothing moves forward. We challenge ourselves to push the limits of our mental strength, as well as our physical abilities.

Class starts

  • Complete combustion process of gas furnaces 80% & 95%; •
  • Properties of propane and natural gas furnaces;
  • Detection of heat exchanger failures;
  • Servicing package HVAC units; and
  • Exam of everything that has been taught to this point.

Class starts

  • Review and test out on EPA exam
  • Lab: hands-on HVAC projects

Group Does Preventative Maintenance

  • Gas Furnace – Heat Pump – Air Conditioner – Air Handler
  • Then we have 60–120 minutes of one off time for review of open questions from the week’s instruction.
